This year was my first Sun N Fun and it was amazing! Never before had I been around so many aircraft and it was like a dream for me. Everywhere I looked there was a plane, really an awesome time. I think the Aeroshell team was great, my first time seeing them and they really work those T-6's! Thunderbirds looked pretty good, I liked it a lot.

Anyway, I found out about this site from someone who gave me a flyer while I was shooting some of the planes flying on film. Who was this that was passing them out? Just curious to see who it was.

I agree with the comment about the Thunderbirds....what a waste of time. In Europe we're used to very dynamic displays. I woudn't say they're not good because they fly just great , but....

I have been going to Sun 'n Fun for the past 12 yrs, but what a disappointment the Thunderbirds were. Why they have to keep the spectators waiting more than 30 minutes before they take off, when most of people cannot see what is going on. As for the display, the singletons were good but why do the Thunderbirds have to go to the next state (well county) after each pass. The RAF Red Arrows by contrast would have taken off with no fuss some 30 minutes before display time and then make a big entrance, low and fast. The display would have been tight so that almost at all times they were in view of the public. How about the Blue Angels next time? I saw their display in the 70's when they were flying Phantoms and it was nothing short of spectacular.

As for Sun 'n Fun itself great. The Splash In at Fantasy of Flight was a lot better venue than Lake Parker even though it cost 5 dollars for parking.

Second time in Lakeland for a couple of days. Just too many things to see... Loved the ride in the Huey (too short!) and the noise of Merlin's engines. Well, back now in Switzerland where we prepare the Business Aviation exhibition for next month. Cheers

I was like a kid in a candy store agian. This was my third time to Sun-n-Fun, Great time agian. Met up with some old pilot friends. The day went as fast as those turbine Lancair airplanes. WOW. Thanks to all the Volunteers at Sun-n-Fun. You make it happen... Thanks

I went for two days and they definatly went by too fast! I didn't even get to see half of the things there!

Yeah it definately went by way to fast. I miss the sound of airplanes in the morning.

Yes, the week went by much too fast. I went on the last day, but bailed when it started raining. Too many sick people in my office to take the risk of sitting out in the rain. I met two very nice guys from New York and we plan to meet again next year. I took over 2000 pictures in the five days I attended. I am currently going through them with a, hopefully, more critical eye...
